I listen to this sort of thing quite often. It’s atmospheric, thought-provoking, moody, even sometimes too emotional for me to keep playing for long. But after hours of loud, very public jingly-jangly guitar music I often relax to something like this. I found Sasu Ripatti (aka Vladislav Delay) in my inbox today and it’s just what I need after a really hectic weekend. Is this old-fashioned and boring to you, young readers? I don’t know how I would have reacted to sounds like these when I was 25. If it didn’t have a driving beat or some cute guy hollering into a microphone I pretty much didn’t care for it. I’m still like that, as any regular reader here knows. But I’m equally introspective and happy to hide under the covers and let my mind wander to these sounds… with or without the feel of your hands as they roam my body, your mouth, your tongue, going where it will, oxox

Sistol is back, being resurrected by Vladislav Delay. His oldest of pseudonyms comes back to re-release his 1999 s/t album, Sistol fully-remastered as well as “unreleased bonus tracks from the era, alongside an exhaustive selection of all-new remixes and reworkings from the artist’s peers, including techno and electronic luminaries such as John Tejada, Alva Noto, FaltyDL, Sutekh, Mike Huckaby, and [a]pendics.shuffle (to name just a few of the remixers). Additionally, preceding the record’s rerelease will be a limited run of several of the remixes of this older material above, available digitally and on limited 12-inch vinyl by Phthalo and Halo Cyan Records in July.” AND coming in August, a new record, On The Bright Side.
