Remember me raving about Freelance Whales? Wow, I’m still listening to their album. It’s beautifully, happy, intricate indie music with words that are fun and also meaningful and interesting. I’ll admit to you, my dear readers, one of the things that I grow weary of in the indie scene is the plethora of music with just nonsensical, at best, or inane (more typically) lyrics. It seems that if you don’t want to sing about love and emo-out, then you sometimes end up trying to convince me that photos of your cat just aren’t as amusing to you as they once were. Ugh. However, Freelance Whales’ songs are full of quirky, meaningful words without getting bogged down in heavy music. This song, even as deathly serious as it is, has such a bittersweet feeling.

I adore them!!! They blew me away, completely when I saw them with Surfer Blood. I had a feeling they would, and I was sooooo not disappointed. Thanks, for stopping by, darlin xo
