Hey Chicago! Did you get your tickets to see The Walkmen yet? Both shows with White Rabbits are SOLD OUT, eek. But there are still some left for The Walkmen’s third show here with TV Torso and The Dig (from Brooklyn) this Friday, the 13th. I had no idea who TV Torso were, I thought maybe you didn’t either. So I did some snooping real quick before work and dug up this Daytrotter session for ya, just cause that’s the kind of wonderful blogger I am :)

In the same way that I said White Denim was a band to be appreciated live, TV Torso is exactly that kind of band. Funny… they’re both trios from Austin. They must grow em like that down there! This promises to be an exciting show! TV Torso is comprised of Matt Oliver, the former lead singer of Austin band Sound Team, along with Sound Team’s drummer Jordan Johns and an amazing bassist, Austin Leonard Jones. I think you’ll find, especially in this second track, “Slanders Stew,” how raw and dirty indie rock can and maybe really should get once in a while. images

Who’s The Dig, you ask? From Brooklyn, they have an EP,m_f2ee53298c8b4d238abb12cdf16db3b1 Good Luck and Games, released in 2007, and are working on the next. They claim their influence to be The Doobie Brothers, hmmm. I’m hearing very nice indie pop here. Well I’ve played “She’s Gonna Kill That Boy” a few times, and it’s damn sexy. I’ll be there early to hear this band. You might wanna be as well. xoxo
