Time for another Contrast Podcast goodie to tickle your earholes and I’ve not giggled at all on this one! The theme for the week was “1-2-3-4 Intros” and I just happened to be listening to Our Hearts Are Gold, Our Grass Is Blue the week before last and “No More Sorry Songs” popped up. It has a catchy little 1-2-3-4 intro and I’ve been dying to put some bluegrass into the mix over there, you know, to represent my heritage a bit amongst all those Englishmen and Scots and such. You can go have a listen for yourself. Tim compiles all of the contributions each week into a podcast and it’s open to anyone who wants to join in, you don’t have to be invited or anything. There’s instructions on how to do it right here. And it’s a cool way to meet other bloggers and feel part of something bigger than just your little corner of the music world.
Oh! I almost forgot to tell you about the song I chose! Well, I’ve written about Greenland is Melting over here, recently. Since then, they’ve had a bit of an increase in hits on their bandcamp.com page, where you can download their debut album for free. And on that page you can also listen to “No More Sorry Songs” which is one of my favorites, and tells how life is pretty awful without the one you love, after they’ve left you for someone else. Those songs are always the best, aren’t they? xoxo

That was pretty good and not at all what I was expecting to hear as bluegrass.
Yeah, they label themselves as bluegrass and I guess they’re modern bluegrass… or bluegrass-ish, well I dunno, the music is definitely it it’s the vocals that are more indie/country to my ears (?) Anyway, glad you like, I love it! xoxo
