I really hate the twangy stuff if it doesn't have enough "umpf" to it. Punkabilly is where I guess I really get off, a cool punker boy with slicked back hair and rolled up sleeves plucking on a upright bass is a beautiful sight to see ;) Johnny Cash for sure, even some of the other old guys... the ones who could sing and showed some range and talent. I might even say I'm tickled punk. :-) I dislike the mainstream country music These days, but give me Wanda Jackson and Johnny Cash any day. I was so happy in the 90's, when alt.country enjoyed some mainstream popularity. Now that it's not cool anymore, I salute bands like Lucero, who kick ass and keep the cowpunk coming.
