Grand Atlantic: How We Survive, due out June 1

grandatlanticjpg Another Aussie band for your ears on this Friday afternoon/evening, I’m bringing you Grand Atlantic who have their second album coming out June 1.  How We Survive has already leaked a few singles, earning this Brisbane based band some good press and lots of play on college radio and internet radio worldwide. This track, She’s A Dreamer hit the radio this past week, it’s pretty awesome. They’ve got a laid-back, heavy bass, real rock n roll sound. Phil Usher and Morgan Hann provide some excellent guitar licks, appropriately placed in very catchy pop/rock tunes. No, it’s not old-fashioned cock-rock, Grand Atlantic gives you a decidedly post-punk influenced garage sound that fits these American ears just fine, thank you! Their cover of Beyonce’s Single Ladies is not only a great acoustic twist, but just a really nice song, all on it’s own. Enjoy your Friday! xoxox
